Lynchburg Newborn Photographer | Myer’s Studio Session

Lynchburg Newborn Photographer | Myer’s Studio Session

This sweet little boy is baby number five born to a household of four other boys! Can we say #boymom?! I have had the pleasure of photographing this wonderful family over the past few years, including one of his older brother's newborn sessions and a few family sessions along the way! This time around, Myer's parents decided to make the most of the quietness of the studio and allow this session to be 100% focused on only Myer. They were able to relax on the couch in the lounge area and enjoy the stillness of the space while I started with his individual portraits and once those were complete, we finished up with a series of portraits with his parents loving all over him!

Mackenzie's 6 Month Session

In the Studio

I was so excited to welcome sweet Mackenzie back to the studio for her six month milestone session! I have had the pleasure of photographing her birth, Fresh48, and newborn sessions and I look forward to sharing her first birthday session with you all soon as well!

I just need to say publicly: God knew what He was doing when He brought Mackenzie's mom, Kelly through the doors of my studio last year! We have become great friends and as I look back at 2017, it is easy to consider Kelly as one of my greatest gifts of the year. She has made me laugh, invited me into her life through some vulnerable heart-to-heart conversations, and even shared books, scripture, and other amazing resources with me. She is humble and kind and speaks the truth in love. It's not everyday a client becomes a friend, so that makes me even more grateful for who she has become in my life!

Okay, I'll stop with all the mushy talk. :) Below are some of my favorite pictures of my short time with Mackenzie and her precious mama. Milestone sessions don't usually last much longer than 30 minutes because babies, well, they get over it quickly. :) So we move fast, changing clothes, snapping pictures, changing again, and making a lot of fun noises and silly faces! I hope you enjoy all of Mackenzie's adorable expressions!

Do you have a little one at home you want to celebrate? Babies grow so fast, now really is the best time to capture them as they are! If you're looking for a baby or family photographer, I would love to work with you to create images you will cherish for a lifetime. Contact me and if you'd like, we can set up a no-obligation studio consultation to answer any questions you may have.

Lynchburg Newborn Photographer | Peter's Studio Session

Peter's Newborn Session

In The Studio

This little man was one of the easiest newborn clients I've ever had the pleasure of photographing. He was as happy as can be all swaddled, curled up, and snuggled for his portrait session here in the studio!

All of the blankets and wraps you see in this session were provided by me and are always included in the cost of my newborn session fee. There is no need for parents to bring anything but themselves, their brand new baby, and a diaper bag of their own essentials. Here at the studio I have diapers in all sizes, wipes, hair brushes, blankets, swaddlers, wraps, and even the coveted Baby Shusher (newborn parents - if you don't own one of these you need one today!). The goal of my photo sessions is to create beautiful imagery while also providing a relaxing environment for everyone involved.

Peter's parents opted for two newborn sessions; one at the studio and one in their home in his brand new nursery. (In-home newborn sessions are reserved for clients who book 3 or more photo sessions with me in their baby's first year.) For the studio session they wanted it to be all about him, so while I worked with Peter on the beanbag, they took this time to rest on the studio couch and enjoy a little time-off from parenting for a few hours! Soon I'll share pictures of the lifestyle session in their home so you can see the whole family together (and how natural and great they are as first time parents)!

For now, here are a few of my favorites from my time with this little guy all by himself!

Are you expecting and ready to book your newborn session? I am currently booking sessions as far out as late summer 2018. Newborn sessions are best scheduled before your baby has arrived. If you have waited until the last minute, please contact me - if I am able to fit you in, I will! I don't want you to miss out on the opportunity to have this short and sweet season of life documented.

All newborn sessions include the use of the studio wardrobe, a styling consultation to discuss the look and feel you desire for your session, as well as my exclusive client preparation guide. On site hair and make-up services are also available with our stylist so that you feel relaxed, confident and beautiful at your session. I make the process of preparing for your session simple and seamless, so you can focus on your first priority, taking care of your newborn baby. Contact me today to reserve your session.

Lynchburg Mommy & Me Mini Session | Meridith’s Baby

Meridith's Baby

mommy & me mini session

With her huge smile, contagious laugh, and joy for life, Meridith has a special place in my heart. It is impossible not to be encouraged and refueled after spendings just a few minutes with her. While I am always honored when clients choose me to photograph precious moments in their lives, there is something so special about another area photographer asking me to photograph them and their loved ones!

As I was preparing to share these pictures from Meridith's Mommy & Me Mini Session with her fourth (and last) child (so, her baby :)), my heart grew so tender towards the moments I was able to capture. I can practically hear Meridith's laugh as I look at her smile, and the memory of her singing her daughter's favorite lullaby while she rested her head in her safe place on her mama's shoulder is as fresh as if it happened this morning. (These pictures were in fact taken almost a year ago!) The love Meridith has for her daughter is so crystal clear in these pictures and it warms my heart to know that they will both have these images to enjoy for many years to come.

Here are a few of my favorite pictures from our time together at my studio located in Forest, Virginia (in the New London area of Bedford, Virginia, right outside of Lynchburg!):

If you have been thinking about investing in one of my upcoming Mommy & Me Mini Sessions (there are only a few slots left!), I want you to know that I would be honored to capture images like these for you to freeze the time you have right now with your own babies. These days may feel so long, but the years truly are short. Life right now looks different than it did six months ago, and it will continue to change and look even more different six months from now!

From one mom to another, you won't regret having pictures like these taken! In fact, all this heart-tugging writing is making me want to schedule my own session for me and my girls!

Lynchburg Maternity Photographer | Melissa's Winter Maternity Session

Lynchburg Maternity Photographer | Melissa's Winter Maternity Session

I had such a wonderful time getting to know Melissa and hearing the story of how God redeemed the many years she spent waiting to become a mama. The time I was able to spend with her was truly such an encouragement to me!

Melissa reached out to me in early January and since she was just a few weeks out from her baby’s due date, I wanted to get her in the studio for a consultation as soon as possible (all consultations are complimentary with no obligation to book a session). We squeezed her in within the week and she decided to move forward and book both her maternity and newborn session together. She also told me she would be the only participant during her maternity session and she wanted to use it as a time to really celebrate this season and embrace the journey she has been through to get to where she is today. What a beautiful story she has!
