Beautiful Savannah | Lynchburg Bridal Portraits

This weekend I joined the adorable couple, David & Savannah, to celebrate their marriage with their family and friends. It was an absolutely wonderful time and I am so excited to share with you a sneak peek from their big day. However, I have been (not so patiently) waiting for WEEKS to post some of Savannah's bridal portraits... and I cannot wait any longer! Please enjoy some of my favorite bridal portraits I have ever taken. Isn't she stunning?

Thanks to my friend Emily for the awesome job on Savannah's make up!

Sneak Peek: Matthew & Shannon | Lynchburg Wedding Photographer

There is way too much to say about this wedding to fit it into a sneak peek post. Instead, I'll say three words: Love, Joy, Happiness. Come back in a few weeks for more of their beautiful and timeless wedding and a top ten list of our favorite things/moments of their big day! For now, I'll let the sneak peek do the talking...

LOVED the moment of Shannon's parents seeing her for the first time!

And they're married!!!!

Sneak Peek: Megan & Trevor | Northern Virginia Wedding Photographer

Here's a quick sneak peek to hold over this adorable couple while I finish up processing their wedding. Stay tuned for a more in depth blog post about these two, including our top ten favorite things about their wedding day!

Family Portraits | Virginia Wedding Photographer

When I meet with my couples to discuss the order of day for their wedding day, one of the things we discuss is their family portrait preferences. I ask them if they would like pictures with their entire extended family members ("ANYONE who is related to you!"). Some say "yes," and some say "I don't even know all the names of everyone I am related to." Either response usually puts a big smile across my face. For a few reasons! When Tommy and I were planning our wedding, I knew that I wanted a huge family photo of anyone who was related to either one of us. I love the picture. It is "Our Family." My dad's family has lived in Florida since before I was born, my mom's family has lived in Ohio since before I was born, and Tommy's family has lived all over the state of Virginia for most of his life, as well. Somehow, we have managed to become and remain close friends with almost all of our faraway family members. And if you can't tell, family is very important to both Tommy and I. :)

This is the photo I wanted taken on our wedding day.

There are a few (okay, a lot of) people missing from our big family photo, which makes me a little sad, but I know that there will never be another picture that even comes close to this one. Weddings offer rare opportunities to gather all the people that are specifically important to both the bride and the groom together in the same place. We took advantage of the chance to have family portraits taken, just as some of my clients also do. These pictures may not be the most artistic or creative ones from your wedding day, but sometimes they are the most special photos.

So when planning your wedding day timeline, try to take time to really consider the family portraits you would like to have taken. What are the photos you may not have the opportunity to have taken after your wedding day? That day may be the only time in your life that you will have all of your favorite people together in the same place.

My sister and I don't usually shoot from a "photo list," throughout your wedding day. However, we are more than happy to work through a list of specific family groups during the formal portraits. Like I said, this was something that was a top priority for me, so I completely understand if it is your big priority, also. Just be sure to let me know!

My first fan | Fredericksburg Wedding Photographer

I have my first fan! There is this girl that has started following me to all of the weddings I shoot. And I have a feeling she is going to be at more weddings in the future (where I will also be). I LOVE her. She is not a creepy fan. She is a supportive, happy fan. She is beautiful, she has a wonderful smile, and she dances in all the perfect areas so that I always have easy access to fabulous reception photos. Not to mention, she has such great expressions that make fab photos!

Okay I'm kidding. Well sort of. My friend Ashley just happens to be a guest at a lot of the weddings I shoot. She is also in the wedding industry and has been referring me to her clients for a while now. She IS beautiful and she DOES have a wonderful smile... but no... she doesn't stalk me. (Unless you consider blog stalking real stalking. In that case, there are a lot of you guilty of that. ;)) She is just very loved and invited to a lot of weddings!

Anyway, I want to show my appreciation to Ashley for her support. I also wanted to post photos of her just because she is one of the best wedding reception models I could ever want. And because I love her. Here are some of my favorite photos of her...

(Ashley, don't kill me.)

And two of me and Ashley to round out the photos...

Yay! Love her! :)
