Lavender Farm Engagement Session | Matt & Hannah

Oh these two... they just made my heart swell with giddiness when we met up for their engagement session. You would think after photographing more than 100 couples, I'd be over it by now. But when a bride and groom book me for their wedding and we have the opportunity to connect at their engagement session ahead of time, there's nothing that gets me more excited about their wedding day than watching them snuggle up and enjoy each other in front of my camera! And okay... pair it with beautiful sunset light and I literally squeal. I make fun of myself for it, too, so that may explain some of the genuine laughs these guys gave me. :)

Enjoy Matt and Hannah's engagement session shot at the Evergreen Lavender Farm in Appomattox, VA. It was my first time photographing a session at the lavender farm nearby and I LOVED it! Thank you, Peggy and Thane for being so hospitable to us while we were on your property!

I love Richard & Claire's story. It's one of those that starts... pauses... and starts again. And that again part? It lasts forever.

Graham & Emily | Ashland Engagement Photographer

Internet, meet Graham & Emily. Emily has been a dear friend of mine for years. We met in college our freshman year at Longwood University (did you know I went to Longwood? Oh yes. And a very influential year of my life, it was!) and have been friends since. When she got engaged this year I was SO excited for her! And of course, extremely honored when she asked me to be her photographer. It was awesome to finally meet Graham when we met up for their engagement session. They were adorably sweet together and made my job a cinch! I love engagement sessions so much because it helps show my clients that having your picture taken "isn't so bad." In fact, it's kind of fun and relaxing. Plus, you get to spend the entire session cuddling and loving on each other! Score! :) Here are a few of my favorites from their session:

Matt & Emily | Richmond Engagement Photographer

Happy Monday! Wedding season is in full swing and I still have some couples I have yet to introduce you to!! Today I am introducing Emily & Matt, high school sweethearts that have been together for over ten years! As soon as we started their engagement session I immediately picked up on how comfortable they were in one another's presence. They felt at home with one another, which I personally find super romantic! We walked around Maymont Park in Richmond just chatting and getting to know each other. Matt makes Emily laugh and her quiet demeanor compliments his relaxed personality perfectly. They were adorable cuddling up to one another during our time together. I am so excited to see these two share their vows in just a few weeks and capture the celebration that follows!
