As I was writing this morning's Gratituesday post I got a text message that told me it was time. I stopped what I was doing and I got up and headed straight to the hospital to cover the birth experience of some very dear friends of mine. I wanted to post a few photos real quick before I call it a night because the new mother's family is all the way over in Japan and photos are all they've got right now! Here are a few from today... more to come in the next few days. :)

Congratulations, Dave and Ena. I love you guys and am so, so thrilled for you. <3

Angie & Chad | Fredericksburg Wedding Photographer

While taking a short rest during their reception, I overheard a wedding guest say "He really is a great guy. He totally deserves someone like Angie." Ya'll, that statement right there completely sums up this couple. Good Great people. Totally, completely, utterly in love. Angie was glowing from head to toe all day and Chad couldn't keep his eyes off of her. Yet, somehow, they managed to make their day about their family and friends. They spent their reception celebrating, loving, and thanking all of the people who have watched them grow up and grow together. It was joyful.

My sister and I, along with the lovely Rachel Clarke, all had an absolutely wonderful time at this wedding. It was beautiful and truly full of joy. I am so excited for Angie and Chad and am actually a little bit sad that it's all over. But hopefully I will see them again in the future for some fun family sessions. :)

Here's a sneak peek of their most lovely day:

I love this one that Rachel captured:

Because I miss the snow | Lynchburg Maternity Photographer

This winter was a doozy, no? And I loved every bit of it (have I mentioned that?). I wish EVERY winter was like it! Sometimes our winters are SO mild that all those super cute winter layers that call out to me while I walk the aisles of Khol's with blinders on (headed straight to the home decor section, no doubt) seem like such a waste of my dollars. But this year all this snow made every one of those layers necessary and totally worth my money. :) Because I wish the snow could last forever, I'm reminiscing back to a session I did after the big snow storm hit in February (I know, which one?!). You know this is a snowy session in Virginia because the clients are not bundled up as they sit in the snow. Leave it to Virginia weather to have such big moods swings. One day it snows 12" the next day the sun is shining and the sky is blue and it's about 20 degrees warmer outside. Love it!
