Expecting Joy | Lynchburg Maternity Photographer
While I am busy shooting engagement sessions and weddings right now, which I love, I got excited to change things up a little this past week and spend some time with my friend Joy capturing a big milestone in her life. I love to photograph couples - whether it's a wedding day, an every-day, or a even a maternity session. This session was so much fun because they quickly adjusted to being in front of the camera and were able to just be real despite the fact that I was acting like a total paparazzi. We laughed so much during our time together! Joy and her family are expecting their third precious baby girl to join them in just a few weeks and I am so very excited for her! I love Joy because she is so real - she is real about the challenges of being a mom, the challenges of pregnancy, but also the blessings she has in her life. She is just so genuine - about it all - and that is a refreshing quality to find these days. I enjoy every chance we have to talk about life, balancing being work-at-home-moms, and plans for our futures. (Psst, Joy is the awesomeness behind The Goose Beary Shop!) I can't wait to meet her precious Tacy and watch as Joy makes the beautiful adjustment from work-at-home mom of two to work-at-home mom of three. I admire her so much!

Sunday and Daddy | Lynchburg Family Portrait Photographer
There are a million and one things I could have been doing this morning between 5am and 7am... one of those things includes sleep, of course... but I was up and I wanted to finally blog these pictures I took about a month ago. We were having a super warm week and Sunday and I had been sitting outside waiting for Tommy to get home from work. The light was just right... Tommy was in his uniform... and Sunday was in just a diaper. Everything was perfect so I ran inside and grabbed my camera and captured some of my absolute favorite pictures of the two of them - ever. This is so them... she's such a little toddler now. One second she wants cuddles, the next she wants to get down and run around. She is growing so fast and we are absolutely enjoying her at this age. She's 17 months old now... wow. How time flies! I hope to get another letter to her written so soon to capture all the things she is saying and doing these days. Just like one day she decided to start walking... it seems as though she has just decided to start talking. She understands almost everything we say to her now - obviously I cannot have an adult conversation with her - but I speak in easy terms and she gets it. We've started tapping into the world of potty training by using key words now to identify what's going on. She is so smart and she catches on so fast. Anyway, I need to save all this stuff for her letter. :)
Here are the loves of my life...!

Rosy Baby | Lynchburg Newborn Photographer #sincerelylizphoto
Gosh, there has been so much stuff going on behind the scenes here at Sincerely, Liz, and I wish I could tell you guys ALL about it! We are currently working on a new website, preparing to announce a super-special Valentine's Day opportunity, preparing for the 2013 wedding season, and so much more! I am loving all of it! In the meantime, I still have a ton of sessions to share with you guys. While I'm sharing about my paleo challenge (journey!) over here, I will be posting some more photography related things here on the main part of the blog for a little while. First up - sweet baby Callie. Callie's session is the first of many newborn portrait sessions on the calendar this year! And of course I was totally fighting baby fever after spending the morning holding and cuddling her. I know everyone talks about that "baby smell" that new babies have. Okay, well mothers talk about it. And before I became a mom I could defnitely identify the scent of a newborn baby. But, now that I have held my own babe for hours on end... I not only idenfity the scent... I feel like I am swimming in it when I hold a newborn these days!! Am I alone here? It's just this... BAM... here's a NEWBORN! "I smell like sour milk but isn't it the best smell in the whole world?!" Yes, baby. It really, really is the best smell in the universe.
Oh dear... I am in for some trouble this year! Haha. Okay - onto Callie!!
Callie's big sister, Olivia, made her debut on the blog a few years ago. So of course I was honored to have the opportunity to photograph Callie as well. Just like big sis, Callie was a most excellent model. I am loving the rosy rompers mama bought for her session, too - so, so perfect! Here are a few of my favorite pictures from her session:
