An Elegant Garden Party | Style Shoot

So last week I introduced you to Amanda and her team from Ashley Baber Weddings. Today, I would like to share a peek into the beauty that can unfold when a wedding designer teams up with this area’s finest vendors for your wedding. This was a beautiful set up at Bliss: A Fine Wedding Fair. You are looking at the incredible talent of Amanda Gray (stylist), Amy Thornburg (florist), and Jennifer England (cake artist). Are they not an incredible trio?! And they are all local to Lynchburg. So beautiful.

Life with Sunday | #gratituesday

Last weekend, something big happened. Sunday woke up only about an hour after I put her to bed. This doesn’t happen often, but when it does our routine usually looks like this:

If her cries are whimpery, pitiful “I’m really too tired to be awake” cries, we let her cry for a minute or so. But if she doesn’t fall back to sleep quickly, I will go into her room and pick her up. In the past, I have sat down in the glider and nursed her back to sleep. In recent weeks, I’ve picked her up and just held her for a little bit until she is barely asleep and then laid her back down.

But I always pick her up.

Until last Saturday night. She woke up and threw out a few whimpery cries, but I knew it would be easier if I just went in and coaxed her back to sleep. When I opened the door I found her sitting up in bed, usually a sign of a larger task ahead. I gently said “Sweet girl, what happened? Can you lay back down?” I patted her little pillow and repeated myself. “Sweetie, will you lay back down?”

And you guys, she did. She did!

She laid back down and I covered her with her blanket and rubbed her back for about 30 seconds. And that was that.

It’s small little moments like these that force me to recognize that she is growing up, and she’s never going to stop growing. No matter how much I LOVE this age and how badly I just want her to stay small forever, she is going to keep changing. It makes me sad, yet so excited. Oh, motherhood. Such a pickle you put my emotions in.

So, today, I am using this Gratituesday to express my gratefulness for life with our precious girl. It is good, so good. I know moments are fleeting and you never know how many days you have with each other. Let it be known that our days with Sunday have been the best days of our lives.

Here are a few snapshots of life with Sunday lately.

gratituesday is a weekly post I try to keep up with. Join us at Heavenly Homemakers by sharing your own Gratituesday post!

Will & Leisha | Fredericksburg Engagement Photographer

When I heard these two has gotten engaged, I was so giddy for them! Will is the brother to my college roommate, Sarah. I was in Sarah’s wedding last summer and I brought along the Snapshot Studio as a part of our gift for her wedding. That night, Will and Leisha became the subjects of some of my FAVORITE pictures ever taken in the Snapshot Studio. Seriously - look how adorable they are!!

So, when Sarah contacted me about their wedding I immediately jumped at the opportunity to get them in front of my lens! :) We got together about a week ago and they just turned up the cuteness while I snapped away. It was a chilly day, but the sun was shining and they were glowing in their love for one another. They are getting married so soon! This coming weekend, actually! The anticipation in the air reminded me of those last few months of my engagement to Tommy. There is nothing that gets me more excited for a couple than when I can see, feel, and truly understand the thoughts that are passing through their minds as they cuddle up to one another and recall the days, moments, and kisses that brought them to this day.

Breathtaking. And these two… they have it. That spark that takes your breath away. Love them. Love these pictures.

I Dream of A Wedding | #sincerelylizphoto

Last Thursday, Valentine's Day, was the Second Annual I Dream of a Wedding event sponsored by Hill City Bride. This years couple, Gabe and Erika, were absolutely adorable, sooo in love, and super laid back... a perfect combination for planning a dream wedding with various preselected vendors! I was honored and excited to have been selected to shoot Erika's bridal portrait session on the grounds of the West Manor Estate. We met up last fall for this session so I have been holding onto these pictures for a LONG time. I'm super excited to share them with you! Thanks again to Jennifer, the heart and soul behind the I Dream of a Wedding project and for inviting me to be a part of the big event again this year! To see more from their wedding and planning adventures, check them out on Hill City Bride!
