David & Savannah | Lynchburg Engagement Photographer

I know I gave a little sneak peek a few weeks ago, but I wanted to share the rest of this fun engagement session. When I asked these two what they enjoyed doing together they immediately answered "cook and take our dogs to the dog park." Well, that's easy! We decided to have them cook a fun meal (note to self: don't ever go to an engagement session [with food] on an empty stomach again!) and then head out to the back yard for some play time with their pups. I love that their session incorporated so much of their personalities and hobbies. This is something I really would like to start doing with all of my couples.

We started in their adorable vintage-style kitchen:

Seriously, guys. He adores her:

I know it looks like they were doing a lot of flirting and kissing (they were!), but they really were cooking something delicious, too! Here's some proof:

And then, they made a date of it in their (full of light) dining room. Pour some wine and feed each other! Now that's romantic. ;)

Then we headed outside for some more fun portraits. Some with and some without the doggies.

This was so much fun! I can't wait until their wedding in June, I know it's going to be such a great celebration of their love for each other. :)

Sneak Peek: Paul & Kimberly Pt. II | Northern Virginia Wedding Photographer

There was no way I could keep these amazing reception dance photos to myself. Paul and Kimberly had one of the most adorable first dances I have had the opportunity to witness. There were spins and dips and kisses galore. I couldn't choose my favorite, so instead, I am dedicating a whole blog entry to their first dance. Seriously, how cute are they?!

Oh, guys, this was far from the end of the evening. :) More to come!

Sneak Peek: Paul & Kimberly Pt. I | Northern VA Wedding Photographer

Everything about Paul and Kimberly's wedding day was p-e-r-f-e-c-t. From the weather to the toasts, I think it is safe to say that everything went better than expected. The day was absolutely beautiful. These two are SO in love. They have the most joyful and supportive families. The wedding toasts were full of tears and pride for friends. The dance floor was packed all-night-long, from the first dance to the last dance. It was beautiful. I have some fun blog posts planned for these two, but I wanted to kick off the sneak peek with just a few of my absolute favorites of the day. First off - Kimberly getting ready surrounded by her FIVE sisters, two brothers, and loving parents (all of whom are not in this photograph :)):

Kimberly and Paul had their reception at the beautiful Fauquier Springs Country Club. The amazing event coordinator there hooked us up with some golf carts to ride around in for some portraits of just the two of them. Here are my top two favs from our time together:

And this photo right here about sums up the activity on the dance floor all. night. long. I literally was leaping for joy as I hopped around the floor snapping pictures of this dance happy crowd! LOVED it!

More to come!

emma grows | Lynchburg Newborn Photographer

I mean seriously, this little girl has already changed so much since just last Tuesday! Emma is hands down, the smiliest baby I've ever photographed. She even smiles on command! Coolest ever! Her mama just whispered sweet nothings in her ear, "smile babyyyy," and viola! What a precious little model they have. I am especially excited about the fact that she lives just down the road so I can visit her many times this year!

I love the way her newborn photos turned out. I am particularly happy about the mix of portraiture style and photojournalism style during this session. Both are image styles I truly enjoy taking. I love it when I have the opportunity to shoot both in one session. :)

Without further ado...

sneak peek: baby o | Richmond Newborn Photographer

I am headed out the door to meet my father in law for dinner (and tax talk - great way to wait until the last minute, huh?) but I wanted to post this quick sneak peek from yesterday's newborn session. This sweet girl was an absolute dream to work with, despite being older than most of my newborns. One of my favorite things about newborn sessions is simply holding the babes. I love to swaddle them up tight and just admire their soft skin and newborn scent. Baby O's mom and dad were so great about me holding her between set ups and I think that may have had something to do with her cooperation. Or... well... maybe she's just another one of those perfect little girls. ;) Yes, let's go with that!

Anyway, mom and dad, I hope you love these!!

and we can't forget their FIRST baby girl, Sadie!
